Assist With Animals assists your AI, so your AI can assist you with the animals in your life.
Your AI already knows a lot about animals: it can narrow a bird down from one photo, talk through a change in an old dog, or read a vet’s notes in plain language. Assist With Animals is where what it learns about your animals, the ones you encounter, care for and learn about, is kept, connected and ready for next time.
You, your AI, and this site
You decide
You choose what to record, what to ask, and what is true about your animals. Identifications, links and decisions are yours to confirm.
Your AI reasons and researches
Today's AI can examine a photo, compare look-alikes, read a vet's notes in plain language and research a question in depth. You bring the AI you already use.
This site keeps it, connected and ready
Encounters, animals, groups, places, research and documents stay attached to what they were about, so the next conversation, or the next AI, starts from the whole story.
Ideas to tryAll 10 ideas
| An idea to try | What your AI can help with | Your AI with this site |
|---|---|---|
| Is this the same visitor I photographed last month? Encounter | Compare markings and circumstances, point out similarities and differences, and explain the limits of the match. | Keep both Encounters and a proposed connection to an individual animal. You can inspect the photos together and revise the connection as evidence grows. Similar-looking animals do not have to be silently merged into one life story. |
| Help me prepare for the kitten we are bringing home. Individual | Research the questions you have, help organize preparations, and adapt the discussion to your household and preferences. | Give the kitten its own page with your notes, background, sources, and instructions for your AI. As plans turn into experience, add what happened and what you learned. Later discussions can use that individual history rather than only general kitten information. |
| I want to describe a change in my dog's behavior clearly. Individual | Help organize your observations, ask about context, and prepare questions you want to discuss with someone who knows the animal. | Save dated observations, original media, and the account your AI helps you write on the dog's record. Keep returned opinions attributed. When you revisit the situation, the record shows what you noticed, what someone suggested, and what happened next. |
Connect your AI
Connect the AI you already use, and it can read your records and save its work here, labelled as its own. You sign in with your Assist With Animals account and approve the connection; that is the whole setup.

QuestionsAll questions
Is this a vet?
No. Assist With Animals gives no veterinary or animal-care advice. It keeps your records: what you observed and measured, what a vet or other person told you (attributed to them), what your AI interpreted (marked as your AI’s), and what you decided. Those stay separate, so nothing hardens into a diagnosis nobody made.
Your AI can help you think things through and prepare questions, and it can put together a vet-visit packet from your records for you to review and take along. For anything urgent, contact a vet.
Which AIs work?
Any AI app that can add a remote MCP connector with sign-in. In Claude, go to Settings → Connectors → Add custom connector and paste https://www.assistwithanimals.com/mcp. ChatGPT and other apps that support remote MCP connectors work the same way, where your plan allows custom connectors. You sign in with your own Assist With Animals account and approve the connection; that completes setup.
If your AI app cannot add connectors, you can still copy an idea or the starter message into it and keep your records here yourself. Connection details.
What can my AI see and change?
Your AI connects at /mcp as you, with your own sign-in, so it sees only your records. Once you approve, it can read your records, photos and Library, and save observations, encounters, research, documents, lists and corrections to its own work. It can add and answer Queue items and file Suggestions. Everything it saves is labelled as your AI’s.
Your AI proposes and you decide. It cannot confirm an identification, accept a “same animal” link, record a diagnosis or mark a decision as yours. It cannot change its own access, share anything, export your data or permanently delete anything. You can narrow or disconnect the connection in Settings.
What does it cost?
Nothing during the soft launch. If that ever changes, it will be announced on Updates before it affects you. Your AI app’s own plan is separate and set by its maker.
Assist With Animals is one of a family of sites that each keep one part of life for your AI. Each keeps its own records; nothing private crosses between them.
